WAVR
The First Scalable Wave Energy Converter
Innovative Expandable Modular Design
Patent Pending
Tap into a more consistent power source
Diversifies renewable energy mix
Requires significantly less battery storage
Provides reliable, consistent power for watercraft
Empowers coastal communities and island nations
Hybrid application - integrates with solar, wind and tidal technologies
Because waves are less intermittent than the sun or wind, WAVR is more consistent and will require less battery storage. Solar PV, wind turbine and tidal technologies can be integrated with hybrid WAVR devices. Together with other renewable technologies, WAVR can be an important ingredient in the sustainable energy mix.

Prime Movr
A New Paradigm for Low-Speed Applications
Dynamic Moving Magnetic Field
A challenge for many small energy harvesters such as those found in micro wind turbines and water wave harvesters, is that very often the speed of the drive shaft is too low to generate much current in the copper windings. A gear box can be employed to increase the shaft speed to the alternator, but this increases startup torque requirements to impracticable levels, and also adds mechanical complexity typically unaffordable in low power energy harvesting applications. Taking advantage of gravity, the Prime Movr generator represents a new paradigm to generate electricity from applications like slow-turning wind or water turbines.
Using a new alternator design which introduces a radial degree-of-freedom for the moving magnetic field, the Prime Movr can convert kinetic energy to electricity more effectively at low speeds without the complexity or the mechanical losses imposed by a gear box. Prime Movr’s rotational axis is oriented orthogonally to the gravitational field, and as the magnet is lifted by the rotor’s rotation it rolls down its track creating a moving magnetic field with higher velocity than the rotational velocity of the rotor. Compared to a traditional alternator, it is this faster radially moving magnet in the Prime Movr that induces more current in the adjacent coil. This extra degree of freedom is the key to unlocking the potential of low and variable speed mechanical power conversion such as wave motion and other low flow water and wind currents.
Magnetic resistance has less of an effect in the direction of rotation for the Prime Movr
About Us
In 2016, Dr. Victor Cheboxarov and Clyde Igarashi obtained two patents for a previous Wave Energy Converter (WEC) through the professor’s university in Russia. The large-scale design converts resonant energy. A year earlier, Clyde had contacted Dr. Cheboxarov (who had won a prestigious international award) to discuss WEC’s, but they were too late to participate in the Department of Energy’s Wave Energy Prize.
Since then, Dr. Cheboxarov has been researching and developing the technology along with his other projects at his university, though funding is always a challenge for such large-scale projects.
Several years later, Clyde met with John Waihee to discuss topics such as energy independence and distributed energy. The former governor of Hawaii experienced many large-scale projects which require a lot of development and resources. That was the impetus for the innovation of a different, modular device that is smaller yet expandable to grow with increased energy requirements. Thus, the concept of WAVR was born - with the goal of rapidly developing a practical, relatively inexpensive wave energy converter.
